Announcing CK-12's Partnership with Datawind in India!
Here at CK-12, our mission is to provide open-source content and technology tools to help teachers provide learning opportunities for students globally.
We're very excited to announce that CK-12 has partnered with Datawind (makers of Aakash tablets in India)!
Through this agreement, CK-12 will come pre-installed on most DataWind devices so users will have access to high quality math and science learning material at their fingertips for free. True to our vision, CK-12 will help drive high quality learning anywhere in the world so the same flexible textbooks, concepts, interactive practice, quizzes and videos can be accessed by all!
This is BIG news for CK-12 as we continue our global push for worldwide high quality learning.
“Access to high quality education for primary and secondary schools shouldn’t be limited. At CK-12 we provide the content that can be accessed anytime, anywhere to improve learning” says Neeru Khosla, Executive Director of CK-12 Foundation.
Millions of Indian students and teachers now have access to affordable technology in addition to the free STEM content already available from CK-12. In addition, Indian students and teachers will enjoy the same flexibility in customization, personalization and even the ability to print Flexbooks in some parts of India where there is limited internet access.
Rich, free, interactive, referential and engaging educational content is an imperative for their success. As tablets are revolutionizing learning globally, this intersection of an affordable tablet with CK-12 content allows Datawind customers an opportunity to learn anywhere, anytime." said Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO, Datawind.
The pre-loaded content will make it easier for Indian students to learn at their own pace and even get ahead in class. They can even take advantage of CK-12's new groups for collaborative learning, Q&A outside of class time and communication with class members and teachers.
